Volkswagen Polo GTI Supercar
GTI – “Gran Turismo Injection”. Three letters which are more than just a seal of quality. It is a trademark and an identity. And now it ́s coming to the WRX with the new Polo GTI Supercar.
Since 1976, GTI has been synonymous at Volkswagen with sportiness, powerful engines and peak performance. In 2017 the Polo GTI Supercar with its 2-Litre Turbo charged engine, 570 bhp and an acceleleration from 0–60 in 1.9 seconds will be one of the most powerful GTI’s ever from Volkswagen.
And on top of that it has very good genes.
The development was done by Volkswagen Motorsport in Hanover where the engineers under guidance from technical director FX Demaison put in all their know-how which made them a four-time World Rally Champion with the Polo WRC.
For this reason the new Polo GTI WRX Supercar is using similar technology in transmission and dampers, the chassis is based on the WRC too – but of course everything is adjusted to the FIA WRX technical regulations.
